Art Show
I was lucky enough to participate this Spring in an art show at my school. It was so exciting and I must say that my paintings looked so much nicer up on a wall in a gallery. The other students who showed with me had very interesting peices as well. The best part of being in this show was all of the feedback that I got about my work. Some described my brush strokes as vigorous and others said that the paintings were strong and full of color. I am pleased and I had a lot of fun to boot. Here are a few pictures from the gallery.

Drawing from life or live
I just found out that I really like drawing from a professional model. In my Intermediate Drawing class on Tuesday we had a professional nude model come. At first I felt a little akward but once we started drawing it felt very normal and you realize that you are drawing something beautiful, the human figure. Also you learn so much from the nude about the body, especially not having the distraction of garb and folds of the clothes. Now I would really like to do some nice drawings of my husband and my children. The hard part will be getting any of them to be still long enough for me to do some nice work. I should be able at least to get a few good quick gesture drawings done which I believe would be especially nice with the kids. If you would like to see some of my latest gesture and value drawings you can check them out at my Flickr spot here. I think you will enjoy them!

Secret Blog
Shh... this is my late night place for various ramblings. Every night my mind is washed with random thoughts of just about everything. Mostly they are technical or artistic ideas, sometimes philisophical or religious, sometimes I don't even know what's going on up there. I must write these things down somewhere and any passers-by can make sense of them, including myself perhaps.
Tonight I'm thinking about soup. My husband makes a delicious soup of a dry Lipton Chicken Noodle packet and some frozen peas and carrots. Some bizarre biological system causes my stomach to cry out at this time every evening. Usually it is soup, tea, or cereal, any one or combination of those. Other strange desires pop up here and there as well, like a strawberry smoothie or truffles... mmm.
I'll try to post artwork up often as well, either mine or something I find interesting.
